Frequently Asked Questions

Is this metadata viewer safe to use?

Yes. Files are securely processed and deleted right after metadata extraction. We do not retain your content.

Does this work for EXIF data?

Absolutely—if your image has EXIF (camera, GPS, timestamps), we surface it clearly alongside other metadata.

Can this reveal where a photo was taken?

If GPS tags exist, we show the coordinates. If no GPS tags exist, there is no location information to display.

Can metadata be wrong?

Metadata can be edited or stripped, so treat it as helpful context rather than guaranteed truth.

Can metadata restore blurred or redacted parts of an image?

No. Metadata describes the file but cannot recover pixels that have been altered or removed.
